Monthly Calendar

On this page, you will find up-to-date information regarding objects that you will be able to see in the sky for the month. We hope that you will come back, and check this page out each month as it will have new information on it. We are going to give you a constellation and an object that will be in a good viewing spot to see either naked-eye, or in a small set of binoculars. We hope that you like this idea, so dig that old telescope out of the back closet, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a lawn chair, and head out in the backyard so you can have a front row seat to view some great objects this month!

August 1st - New Moon at 10:13 UT.

August 1st - Total Solar Eclipse visible from parts of the Artic, northern China, Siberia, and Asia.

August 2nd - The Moon will be at near Venus at 13hr UT.

August 3rd - The Moon will be near Saturn at 10hr UT in the evening sky with a magnitude of +0.8.

August 4th - The Moon will be near Mars at 9hr UT in the evening sky.

August 6th - Venus will be 1 degree away from Regulus at 3hr UT.

August 8th - Our First Quater Moon will take place at 20:20 UT.

August 10th - The Moon will be near Antares at 19hr UT in the evening sky.

August 10th - The Moon will be apogee (furthest from the Earth) at 20hr UT.

August 12th - The Perseid Meteor Shower will peak around 11hr UT to 14hr UT with about 50-90 meteors per hour depending on your location.

August 13th - The Moon will close to Jupiter at 15hr UT in the evening sky.

August 13th - Venus will be only 0.23 degrees away from Saturn at 18hr UT.

August 15th - Mercury, Venus, and Saturn will with a 2.6 degree circle of each other!
